  I've never had barbecue that blew me away but the beef ribs at Black's did exactly that. I didn't know that barbecued ribs could taste so good! It was smokey and tender and juicy and just altogether delicious. The brisket was good too, but I'm not a huge fan of brisket in general. They did a great job with it though - it wasn't as dry as brisket usually is. Definitely a must go if you're in Austin! Lockhart is only 45 minutes away and the lines are super short compared to Austin.

  I've tried BBQ all over the state of Texas. I've tried many of the hyped places like Salt lick, etc. Blacks is by far the best BBQ I've ever eaten. The chopped beef sandwiches will make you slap your momma. My daughter loved the ribs and her friend loved the brisket. We all wanted to go back and we have. If you're looking for great BBQ this is your place.

  Came in to have a meeting in Lockheart from San Antonio, the locals advised us to stop by before we left. I'm glad we stopped. The food was delicious, the smell coming from this place was amazing, and the customer service was great. Raul I believe was his name was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my visit, I will absolutely be returning.

  Blacks is touted as one of the best BBQ places in Texas, and deservedly so. I have no complaints about the food. From the moment you walk in, waiting in the narrow hallway, anticipating your arrival at the head of the line to place your order, then watching as they slice up your choices of meat, your mouth is watering. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere in the seating area was crowded, but not overwhelmingly so. I gave it only 4 stars because of the price. It is very expensive to eat here. For 2 people, each with a couple of slices of brisket and a couple of slices of turkey, 2 sides each, and tea, was around $60 when the 10% tip was added. I can get similar at other joints for about $35 for 2 people. That's the price you have to pay, I guess, to say you've eaten at Blacks. For me, it'll probably be the only time.
